I think the comedians are back in the #1 spot precisely because of the ratings drop he was talking about. They can't be happy about a 17 percent drop. Maybe he's leading up to Spears. In which case, CLOONEY, CLOONEY, CLOONEY, CLOONEY, CLOONEY, CLOONEY. There's been a ratings drop at "Countdown"? Tell me more.

I have no idea. You know I'm not about the detail. I thought it was pretty. But these look good. I need to learn about Twitter. Twitteronia. It sounds like a whole new fantasy world for me. Sweet. One of each, please. Meanwhile, ask David Gregory. He's one of the top five Twitterers in DC. I'm sticking with Rache, because Richard Engel's gonna be on later. I liked his reporting during the Lebanon thing awhile back, then read his book BAGHDAD DIARY. Good book, and he's sharp as a tack. OOPS!! Make that WAR ZONE DIARY. Ahh. That explains all about twitterers. If Gregory is one, that means they're enhanced twits. Or something like that. I like Richard Engel, too, but didn't read his book.

Engel doesn't seem to have an inflated ego. Refreshing!

O'Reilly down 15 percent. Countdown up 60 percent in the past year. O'Reilly up 40 percent. At least that's what I thought I heard.

He should be locked away with Larry Craig and the dankest corner of the wingnut convention.)

We'll know when he's no longer as nice to her and stops introducing her show a la Dan Abrams.

Krista won't allow me to post him at Kos, and I wouldn't do it here, either.

Oh dear, Rachel, you need to be edumacated about Amish. An Amish can be hired to be a bus driver (and there probably are a few.) He/she just can't own a bus for personal transport. The specific rules vary between individual communities.
An amusing moment at the Friday night auction: The were finally selling off an odd looking stick with a wooden loop on it that had been hanging around for months and no-one knew what it was. So they offered it up as a "cow wrangler," and were greeted with a number of wise-cracks. A voice with asked in a heavy Germanic accent, "Does it have a guarantee?" It was the first time I ever heard an Amish women speak English, and speak out in a crowd.
The thing sold for $12.50.

It always surprises me when people do get the Amish to talk publicly--the accent throws me. I know, they'd lose it in a generation or two if their communities were more open to contact with the outside, but it still startles me.

It would come in handy in his work.

LOL--- Rachel's calling Tim LaHaye on his inconsistent millenialism and anti-Christ nonsense. Good for quite a chuckle from my lovely, a former fundy-turned-Unitarian minister-in-training.

I've never understood the popularity of that series. The premise is absurd and the writing is horrible. I don't think I've read one of LaHay's. I've encountered similar stuff over the years -- all absurd and horribly written. The laugh at our end was over Rachel speaking the bible-speak back as quickly as the True Believers. Nothing scares a fundie like an apostate who's actually read The Book.
