I'm watching Elizabeth Edwards talking with Larry King about her new book and John's affair. I feel horribly sad for her, but I'm not sure the book and talking about the affair is such a good idea.
Edwards himself, probably by design, is in El Salvador while she's doing this. The Oprah thing was apparently pre-taped.

When you get to be my age, you wishes are simple ... I'd settle for being a little mouse in Hampson's pocket ... as long as he puts his hand in once in a while. You gonna nibble his fingers? ;D

I hadn't until you posted this link. The Bushies seem to plumb new depths of evil on a daily basis. They're freakin' crazy. They stuck in their thumbs and pulled out some plumbs ...

I can't think why Elizabeth wrote this book; they obviously don't need the money. If it's not damaging to her children at the moment, it could be after she's gone and they have only their father.

Okay, Moon, here's yet another one for you to creatively acquire (if you'll pardon the split infinitive):

Maybe it's cathartic for her, and maybe he's contrite enough -- or masochistic enough -- to figure he deserves it. But I really can't imagine how their kids are coping with this. It's a little like a very quiet war of the roses. The one with Michael Douglas.

One thing I find troubling is that Elizabeth seems to be trying to make John out a victim of this conniving seductress, this "groupie." Hel-LO, honey, it takes two to tango-- John Edwards was faced with a choice, and he made the wrong one. So to blame the woman more than him is just vindictive.

People too often forget where the blame lies, and sometimes people blame the spouse ... sort of what Edwards himself tried to do. That's what I really hate.

Now you've got an old M-mm-mmel Tillis song playing in my head: You see Julie gave me something that you did not She remembered what you forgot And honey, I'm sorry to have to tell you so cruellySleazy. Edwards, not Mel Tillis.

I was tempted to keep this one for myself, but that would be selfish considering we have joint custody, wouldn't it?

Chris Matthews is talking about the merits of publishing more torture pictures. Speaking only for myself, I have seen enough of those which were published earlier and am fully convinced that torture did indeed take place without the need to see more of the same. The showing of more pictures will not convince those who are "blind' to the Bushies' faults. The place for the viewing of these additional pictures is in a court room. I would hate further publications to be the cause of an increase in violence. It would be awful to see the world-approval of the US return to the level of the Bush years.
