I swear the only reason I chose this theme, and attendant music by Anne Murray www.youtube.com/watch?v=aezC_cTzfZUis because this adorable kitty wants to dance. Otherwise, I learned many things today. That Facebook is much easier to navigate than Myspace. That my friends at FB are half from here/the old NH days, the other half from that other board where I've spent three fruitless months trying to fit in--and the friends from here are the ones who genuinely are friends; to the others, it appears, I'm a minor trophy handled once and shoved to the back of the case. Nuff self-pity, though. Anybody wanna liveblog? If so see ya in a few. (I hope Moon got the message about chocolate and champagne. Once I finish dancing with the kitteh, I'm gonna need 'em. )

Let's start with a sample of the chocolate. How's this? If you like it, I'll be back with the champagne.

Hi, Patty and Linda. Hope y'all had a good day today.
Patty, have you heard more from your mom? You said last PM you were calling to check. Hope she's doing better.

I'd better stay away from MySpace. I'm still bewitched bothered and bewildered by Facebook.

Hi, Patty and Linda. Hope y'all had a good day today. Patty, have you heard more from your mom? You said last PM you were calling to check. Hope she's doing better. She seems to be benefitting from being admitted to the rehab place. She is eating better and they are working pretty intensively with her to help her regain some strength. And she did not seem to like my Dad telling her that she needed to eat more, but she doesn't seem to argue the point when the nurses tell her.

(This reminds me of my dad's hospitalizations after his strokes. He did whatever the docs & nurses wanted, but home with Mom was another story entirely.)

Sometimes it is better to have a stranger take care of you. It seems less like nagging when they tell you to do something.

In the interests of full disclosure:
Moon, I left the chocolate & champagne message at Facebook because I think some of my emails aren't reaching you. Like the one about asking "where's Dana Milbank?"
And the biggie: I'm not even in the room with the TV, so I'm not watching the Big Man. Mom's watching something on Food Network, I think.

I think there is a little bit of a power struggle going on there. My mom has always been a doer and is not adjusting well to the role of patient. She does not like my Dad doting on her.

This is white chocolate cheesecake. Those could be either cherries or cranberries. I'll imagine cherries.
