Goodness, look at the time. I have several desserts, starting with this Bailey's cake (what else?). Leftovers will be donated to charity (Daily Kos), so nothing will go to waste. I'll take 2 slices. One for now, one for later ;D

Hi Patty. How's it going? Hi Fair. It is going okay. I am flying to Arizona on Friday. I was scheduled to go next week, but I have moved it up. Will keep you and your mom & dad in our thoughts and prayers.

Mum always told me never to bring home an Irishman. I told my children never to bring home a Southern Baptist. LOL Linda!! My mother said don't bring home a republican. And she meant it.

Is that where the Bailey's is, also? No, I was saving it for dessert. This called an Irish flag. And a little something for the purists. Guinness, heavy cream and Bailey's?

This was my favorite of the desserts I found. It's called Kerry apple cake, and that's caramel sauce oozing ...

Thanks, I appreciate that. They are releasing her from the rehab place because she has not improved and Medicare will no longer pay. We got one day notice and are now scrambling to get home nurses and hospice set up.

Mum always told me never to bring home an Irishman. I told my children never to bring home a Southern Baptist. LOL!! Linda, I love that!!! (I'm not fond of So. Baptists either. Having five So. Baptist preachers and a whole slew of aunts, uncles and cousins who are sorta makes me feel--like a pariah cause I'm a Methodist with agnostic tendencies.)

My brothers both work for a place that has a program for 20 days of nursing care from 4-10 hrs per day at a cost of $4.00/hr. So that covers use for 40 days. Hospice is paid by Medicare I believe.

These are Guinness cupcakes. Does anyone know exactly what role Kennedy played in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964? He was only 32 in 1964, and legally, he couldn't have been in the Senate for more than a year and a half or so at that time.

You know, Patty, she might do much better at home. It could even make less stress for your dad.

The Brooke or Brooks guy was the MA senior senator then, wasn't he?

You know, Patty, she might do much better at home. It could even make less stress for your dad. That is very true Linda. But I am not sure that he can physically handle it, so that is why I am going. I figure her first few days at home might be the roughest and he will need the help. My brothers and sister out there have been shouldering most of it, along with my SIL. Since I have the available time off work, I am going. I don't want to wait too long and then regret that I waited.

He's the one Barbara Walters claimed to have had an affair with.

And a little palette cleanser for the road ... blackberry sorbet. Or as an accompaniment to a Guinness cupcake? I've been terribly remiss in my musical hosting tonight. How about this beautiful piece by the Chieftains and Sinead O'Connor? The tune is traditional but there are two sets of lyrics: a traditional set and this one written after the Easter Uprising of 1916, when the Irish rebelled--eventually successfully--against the British for an independent republic. In Northern Ireland, unfortunately, the battle's never been resolved; the peace remains uneasy at best. www.youtube.com/watch?v=13MQFCfCYdQ

He was actually quite respectful. Nothing to be gained by snark today. Did you do a post at FW about that Foggy Dew video, or was that something you did here?
