Okay, I can explain--really, I can explain-- This started out as an exchange about how Rep. Wilson, the South Carolinian with the manners of a warthog, was crying "foul"--i.e., that he didn't want to apologize for shrieking "YOU LIE!!!" in the midst of the president's speech last night, but was strong-armed into it by the likes of Sens. McCain and McConnell and House Minority Leader Boehner and the foul-mouthed Rahm Emanuel, who knows four letter words the world has NEVER heard before. But somehow it morphed into crying "FOWL"--as in bird calls. So from there I extrapolated songs about birds--and Moon extrapolated bird dishes for tonight's menu. So let's start with a lovely old folksong about the kind of bird Wilson and his ilk are: cuckoos, both in the sense of "crazy" and because cuckoos will kick the eggs of other birds out of the nest and replace them with their own, leaving the bewildered others raising--ahem--bastards. "The Cuckoo" by Doc Watson www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz1zP5XOXxgand by the Osborne Brothers www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRgncMs0QxMWanna blog? PS Big Man, alas, Lady Fair's not watching. Rain check.

Ladies, I just received a message from Lynn at FB asking me to let everyone know that her husband died last night, possibly of a brain aneurysm. OMG -- how sad for her. He couldn't have been that old.

Read President Obama's lips Rep. Wilson. He said "No healthcare benefits for illegal immigrants."

He couldn't have been that old. He wasn't. Lynn's a couple of years younger than me, in fact, but she posted pictures of them together just a couple of days ago--her "sweetie of nearly twenty years" she called him--Oh, Lord. How sad.

I think a PM or an email would be appropriate, Linda. If you don't have her email addy I'll send it to you.
Meanwhile, do we want to continue the liveblog or save it for tomorrow PM?

I'm sure it would, although I don't know whether she will check. She said she won't be around for a while ... for obvious reasons. How my heart goes out to her. Wow.

How do you think we should tell folks at FB?

I think so too, Linda. Let's save it till tomorrow night. Songs and bird dishes keep well. Linda, check your email in about five minutes, please. Night, dear ones. Lynn--and our Patty; I haven't heard from her either and am worried--are in our thoughts and prayers.

I think I'll post some flowers from my bucket and just a simple message about what they are for. Will that work?

How do you think we should tell folks at FB? Probably by PM in their inbox. Truthfully, I'm not sure otherwise how to. I'll send Auntie an email with the news.

Lynn--and our Patty; I haven't heard from her either and am worried--are in our thoughts and prayers. Patty has barely been out of my thoughts for the past couple of weeks. It doesn't bode well. Thank you for the address. I'll send her an e-card. Good night my friends.
