Why haven't the insurance companies taken away pregnancy benefits? By their reckoning, it's the women's fault for getting pregnant.

Your wish is my command ... Cheers! (BTW, the great Lacy J. Dalton did a song once called "Wild Turkey"--not about the drink, it's a play on the name. Alas, not available on YouTube.)

Cheers to you, too. But one shot of that, and I probably wouldn't be in fit condition to serve dessert ... And there will be dessert.

I'm pretty sure it's covered here.

Because it's part of conservative strategy to breed more conservatives. Bring 'em up in poverty and ignorance and convince 'em it's the libruls' fault. And why not? Look how well it's working.

I'm pretty sure it's covered here. They did graciously condescend to pay if the baby contracted jaundice--(the hillbilly term for which, for future reference, is "yaller janders".)

Here's a duck and honey stir fry for something else that's a little different.

Moonbeam had REALLY bad jaundice that didn't show up until Day 3. If they had sent me home after one or two days, the way they do now, it might have been a disaster. Jaundice is a very nasty situation. I stayed in the hospital an extra day or two to nurse her while she spent her time under that crazy light crying her heart out ... and they wouldn't let me pick her up except to feed her. But all's well ...

One more pheasant dish, since we don't get it very often ... this is pheasant en croute ... which is just a fancy pot pie.

But all's well ... Bubba got it too, so they sent Susan home (she cried the whole time they were apart) and kept him an extra day, stripped down to a dipy and put a pair of those goofy Clark Kent sunglasses on him and under that light. Once she did get to bring him home, she moved his crib in front of the window and he caught rays from the AM sun. And--like Beam--all's well now. He's six feet and two hundred plus pounds. (MY BABY BOY MAKES ME FEEL SMALL AND INSIGNIFICANT.)

One of these days, I'm going to find an excuse to cook again. In the meantime, virtualosity will have to do. This is my version of that "refreshing" smile that was circulating at FB. A very big smile from me to both of you. With hot chocolate AND cake. Sweet.
