Tellico River, about twenty miles or so south of home. Running full like this, it's a soothing place to be. Would certainly be tonight. Beautiful Katie.

My place to be still today .... This is beautiful Moon. I'll have to find a place for me to be still today. I could use the solitude. It's been, to quote Krista, a craptacular week not to mention craptacular weather. I need a cool place to relax.

Everyone is welcome to share this place, as long as you bring your own book and something cool to drink. I'll bring the popsicles and dreamsicles.

Wrong season, but this would be a great place to be: the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in autumn. Got a new blog up at FW, about vampires in DC. Not politicians, although I'm sure I'm not the only one that thought has occurred to.

Just what I need about now after reading those two posts by Katie and Brenda on the telecom debacle. So peaceful looking here

A place to be still? How about Elba, the island to which Napoleon was exiled in 1814. If someone sent me there, it would be unlikely that I would try to escape ....

One more Northwoods postcard. I tried to find something that would capture the feeling of sunlight sparkling off the lake. This comes pretty close, although we don't have mountains in the background, and certainly no Mount Rainier (that was spectacular, rory, and thanks). Imagine it's heading down toward sunset and the figure on the dock is my daughter trying to reel in that big fish. I'm heading home today, and back to reality, which probably looks more like this now that the weather has started to change, making the sunlight a bit more dappled. This is actually a picture of my hometown (a relatively old one) as viewed from one of its many lakes. I'll talk to you all again soon, and have a great Sunday.

This would be good--water, wind, plants and a gazebo. Gorgeous.

No. I just typed in "garden with gazebo" at photobucket and looked through several. It reminds me of pics I've seen of Hawaii, though--indeed lush and tropical.

This one reminds me of the river up in Townsend, TN--the last real town before you get up to the 321 split. Go to the right, you end up in Cades Cove, to the left in Gatlinburg.
