As I sit typing I have video downloading from Dkos of Glenn Beck (the link is www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/8/27/773279/-The-Clock-is-Ticking-on-Glenn-Beck). The diarist thinks Beck's on his way out at Faux, as another ten companies have pulled their advertising from his show. I don't know. What I do know is that Glenn Beck truly is a grotesque parody of a journalist. Parody, though, leads me to something far more pleasant: the link our friend Bill left us of Spike Jones & the City Slickers (with vocals by the great musical and comedy team Homer & Jethro). www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoYpx2Ib8ZsGod, I wish Beck were this funny. But he's not, and he never will be. Wanna blog in spite of my obviously obscure train of thought? If so, see ya dreckly.

Maybe. Want some cheesecake? You think YOUR train of thought is obscure. But I do know a good cheesecake when I see one.

Better that than the thought that haunts me: what if this grotesque parody of a journalist decides he's moving into politics? Many of the ones we already have are grotesque parodies of human beings!!! We don't need another!!!

More importantly, what self-respecting corporation would want to be seen donating to his campaign?

Here you go. Many thanks, dear heart. Meanwhile, Craig just left a note at FB that he's been asked to do the last RFD broadcast of Imus tomorrow AM--Imus is apparently moving on to Fox Business Channel, 6-9 AM, being in the next few weeks--Craig can't do it and sounds kinda down. And his MSNBC contract won't permit him to appear on Faux in any capacity.

I have some pretty good cheesecake tonight. Let's get the healthy stuff with fruit out of the way early.

We got wingnuts who would vote for him or El Rushbo faster than you could say Jack Robinson. Texas. Anywhere you got enough crazy voters who think he's--God forgive me--the Second Coming. Never mind that that would be the most grotesque parody of them all.

Well, then, the snark report. Howard Fineman needs a haircut, but then so do I. Countdown is a vision in caramel -- appropriate, since the theme is cheesecake, and caramel is on the agenda. Sticky. Interesting glasses. I watch so little I don't even know if I've seen them before.

Sometimes on some of the AM broadcasts and with Rachel, I think. Olbermann only when Olbermann's off. Olbermann more or less banned him after the Imus debacle, and Craig himself refuses to work w/Tweety anymore after a really nasty episode when Tweety apparently called him a racist on-air. (I didn't see that one; as you know, despite my affectionate amusement at him, a little Uncle Tweety goes a long way with me, so I watch even less of him than I have of the Big Man lately. Craig said something about it on today's thread.)

Do you think I'll remember Woodstock when I see the movie? I don't think I was there, but you never know.

Countdown seems to be running people off left and right -- Milbank, Wolffe, Crawford ... and you never see Shuster at night anymore, either. Given you-know-who's history at ESPN, you start to wonder who's the real problem. One thing's for sure. It's NOT Suzy Kolber. Aha. Lawrence O. Probably the next casualty. Nice blue shirt.

Down nearly to my shoulderblades again.) And I think the Big Man's rather handsome in caramel, so that works.

You mean you didn't read the thing yesterday when I gave Craig a knobite badge of honor for orneriness? ;D As for Milbank--well, that one I'll pass on. They were both in the wrong on that. Wolffe--well, he really should have disclosed that he was working for Dan Bartlett and was possibly compromised from square one. And Crawford--well, you know how the Big Man prefers that everybody agree with him-- Laurence will be okay until he disagrees over something. Then he'll be gone too.
