I can't make things grow to save my life--so today I got Mom a pot of tulips at Wal-Mart. They're still in bud but I think when they open they'll be this color-- Thanks for this. Nine inches of snow are about to bury my tulips deep. Again.

Need some help, here.
Immediate home needed for four year old male German Shepherd Dog, black/brown, impeccable breeding, German parents titled, SCHII, SCHIII; house trained, crate trained, excellent with children, balanced, obedience trained.
Time sensitive: Owner lost house due to mortgage crisis, apartment complex will not allow dogs.
FREE TO A GOOD HOME!
My trainer and I are frantically trying to find a home for this absolutely wonderful dog. Pictures are forthcoming.
Many may think this nothing more than mawkish sentimentality; there are those who will point out that people are in more desparate straits and animals can fend for themselves.
I disagree. I think that we were put on this earth, in no small part, to demonstrate that we can be proper stewards for those over whom we were given dominion. And that, in the fullness of time, we will answer for that stewardship to a Higher Power.
This is no longer an uncommon problem in our country. I don't ask anyone to take in another responsibility, another mouth to feed, house, provide health care for -- but only to acknowledge that the problem exists.
If you know of anyone who can help, please let me know. I'd like the Lake County landfill to be lighter by 80 pounds.

Nite all. Oh! My heart! Just toooo darn cute! Please this sort of thing just melts me. It is so hard being a kitty. Just think, eating, sleeping, eating some more..poop time, pee time, play time, loving time, time looking out the window, time running around the house, in my case, opening all the lower kitchen cabinet doors, chasing bugs, and by the end of the day, the poor little critters are exhausted..what a life!

I agree with your thoughts about our role in being proper stewards for those in our domain. I agree with it all friend. Good luck in finding a home for this boy.

Aw, your poor little William, rejected by the cats. I wonder why they don't like him. Is he their size? Cats are funny. Mine loved my little Pomeranian. Of coure, she was raised by 5 cats, so she was used to their ways.

Although, when she got the first one, it was just a puppy, and I was just a kid, so I wasn't as careful as I should have been. He jumped out of my arms and onto the floor and broke his little leg. They fixed it, though, and after a few years he forgave me.

Most definitely approve. A classic case of someone with too much time, too many peeps, and too little to do. i liked Abbey Road ('turn me on dead peep'), Peeps Attack, The Running of the Peeps, and Venus de Peep. I did have some trouble with Peepankhamun. That seemed so ... wrong. LoL Hilarious ... and thanks.

Good Happy Easter Morning everyone -- CBS Sunday Morning had a story on Carol’s peeps this morning, including coverage of the diorama contest. It turns out that Peepankhamun was the winning entry. LoL I still think it’s just … wrong …. Even more wrong than that is Lord of the Peeps -- www.lordofthepeeps.com/lotp/fotp.htmlBut come to think of it, if anything can survive the fires of Mordor, it might just be Peeps. There were also great stories on organ regeneration -- www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/22/sunday/main3960219.shtmlThe origin of the peace symbol (based on the naval sign language of semaphore) -- www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/23/sunday/main3960390.shtmlAnd Lenny Kravits. Sorry I couldn’t find a video link for this story. Hopefully, there will be one later. This story was eerily reminiscent of Barack Obama’s story. His mother played a controversial role as part of a mixed race couple on The Jeffersons in the 1970s. Here’s a link to Kravits’ website. www.lennykravitz.com/Interestingly, after making a successful career in music, Kravits has now turned his attention to his first love … interior decorating. Again, happy Easter, everyone.

Moon, I also watched the segment on Sunday Morning about Peeps. I thought the interesting part was that they were originally made by hand by Amish women. I never knew that.
Also found it very interesting that that WaPo got over 800 entries to the diorama contest this year. Wow-lots of people have too much time on their hands I guess.

And a Joyous Easter Morning to all!
Loved the Peeps Story! Does it occur to anyone else that Peeps are the Springtime version of Kandy Korn? (Which of course, has its winter analog, Fruit Cake!)
Everyone have a lovely day!

I'm looking into Peeps art as a possible activity while I'm recovering from my surgery. It's a good choice because I won't be tempted to eat any of them. LoL It looks like they already took the Lord of the Peeps idea. Maybe Peeps and Prejudice set to music -- Far Away by Nickelback comes to mind -- or My Fair Peeps or The Wizard of Peeps or Alice in Peep Land or Peeps Through the Looking Glass. If I ever finish the book, maybe Cold Comfort Peeps. Or, in honor of Arthur C. Clarke, maybe 2001 Peeps, A Spacey Odyssey. Or The Day the Peeps Stood Still (do peeps do anything else?). I couldn't do anything with Casablanca, but Breakfast at Peep's might work, set to Moon River. The possibilities appear to be endless. Anyone have any other ideas?

The NY TIMES had a review of two Broadway revivals--"South Pacific" for the first time in more than half a century, and "Gypsy"--
So why not something like "I'm Gonna Wash That Peep Right Outta My Hair"--
or "Everything's Coming Up Peeps"?

One more article on Arthur C. Clarke -- this one concentrating on the future of science fiction writers -- www.nytimes.com/2008/03/23/weekinreview/23iztkoff.html?ref=science"Yet Mr. Clarke’s passing poses a challenge to the current generation of science-fiction writers: in a world where technology evolves so rapidly that the present already feels like the future, will a modern-day author ever inherit Mr. Clarke’s aura of prescience? Do any of his successors share his apparent talent for envisioning technological breakthroughs before they are realized?"

You've about covered them all. I couldn't add more. Just don't go get tempted to eat one. I've never tasted one, don't know if I would, maybe out of curiosity. They probably taste like marshmallow something. As popular as they are, and as long as they've been around, somebody must like them. I like Breakfast at Peep's set to Moon River. I think that will work fine.

HAPPY GLORIOUS EASTER TO EVERYONE! So much to read today, so many links to look at. I will be back later. I'm off to see my brother. Have a great day everyone. Hope the weather is ok where you are. It is like summer here. In the 90s. A bit warm for my taste, but better then rain on a picnic, bar-b-que kind of day. See you all later.

I think that will work fine. I'm just kidding about nobody liking them. My daughter ALWAYS loved them and insisted they be included in her Easter basket (after she found out the truth about the bunny, of course). I've even eaten one or two, although they're not my favorite candy. Here's an interesting article from Newsweek on which Easter candies are most fattening. Not surprisingly, peeps are high on the list. www.newsweek.com/id/124447What I thought was really funny from the story this morning is the peep artist who showed a "neon-colored" peep piece he created about 10 years ago. Apparently, they've found a way to make them last forever. One more movie title -- Peepless in Seattle. All right, two -- Run Silent, Run Peep. Picture a peep in the Clark Gable role. LoL Have a glorious day with your brother, Laura.
