Bruce Reed of Slate mag online calls more GOPers than Palin "quitters." www.slate.com/id/2222230/Best line in the whole column: "When did the GOP become such a bunch of quitters? What ever happened to the party of Larry Craig and his you'll-never-take-me-from-this-stall-alive spirit?" And yet ANOTHER mention of the demented Mary Matalin assessment of Palin's resignation as a brilliant career move. Can't James Carville stage some sort of intervention here?

Definitely NOT ... at least not yet. Anna Molly's is paying him VERY good money not to. In fact, last night we at Anna Molly's prayed that the GOP would ride this wave until the sun explodes, or the moon falls down ... whichever comes last.

Isn't this reminiscent of Steele, after one of his many ridiculous faux pas, declaring that it was all part of his strategy? (Anyone heard from Michael lately?) It is quite amusing to see the wingnuts turn themselves inside out trying to defend Sarah. Perhaps flinging themselves off the roofs of their condos is next.

Well. I. Freakin'. NEVER. How dare he suggest that Palin has an "upper Midwest accent"??! Not hardly. Or was just that the Advanced Liberal Trick of Irony in full play? Maybe. But I don't need a publisher. I need a lawyer. According to Kahane, the only reasonable liberal response is to sue for infringing on my intellectual property. If I only had a brain to pick.

Excellent. But just one more nugget I can never post at CC's: "In fact, if you distill Sarah Palin’s resignation statement down to its essence, her message to her followers is clear: 'I’m the biggest victim on the planet. Vote for me.'" Because, after all, cute, undereducated, IDIOT victims are still entitled to a voice. And if they're over 35, they're qualified to be President. And don't blame me if voters don't have the discernment to tell the difference between Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, or for that matter, between Al Gore and and 54-year-old dryer lint. What does it matter, anyway? The beer goes down easy, and it all comes out in the wash. If I accidentally start a war or something like that, don't blame me; it was all David Letterman's fault. Or, no. It was the bloggers. Those vicious, tricksy bloggers. In their pajamas. In their basements. Keeping me from my precious ....

Thanks, Fair. This is a great article. The anti-elitist-feminist way of thinking may well be responsible for what's happening with the Sotomayor nomination as well. Dare we call the whole fake folksiness, anti-intellectual thing "femisogynism"? gratuity.wordpress.com/2009/04/15/sarah-palin-femisogynist/

Thanks for this link, FW. Quite an interesting history being spilled by folks who are more than happy to have Sarah out of the running as a serious national candidate. I think the Palin family (and Levi) are angling for their own reality series. For those who can't get enough: Sarah's constitutional train wreck in AK -- she can't resign until the legislature's in session to name a back-up, and calling a session would be far more expensive than the "expensive" ethics complaints that she lists as her reason for resigning... www.huffingtonpost.com/shannyn-moore/sarah-palins-constitution_b_230390.htmlThis reminds me of an associate of my brother's at Penn State who couldn't transfer out of his major until his QPA reached a certain minimum standard, and he couldn't do the work in his major sufficiently well to raise his QPA to that standard...

DA*MN!!! I spoke too soon. Now the woman thinks she's a writer. Maybe she's practicing for that seven-figure tome she's getting paid (probably by Rupert Murdoch) to write. Well, if this WaPo op piece today is any indication, she's gonna need a ghostwriter. The first paragraph is okay. Dull and tendentious, but okay: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/13/AR2009071302852.html?wpisrc=newsletter&wpisrc=newsletter&wpisrc=newsletterHowever, I stopped reading at the second paragraph, and left a comment as to WHY I quit reading at the second paragraph, because as usual she cannot forego whining about how badly she's treated by the mean ol' media. The argument at full length may make sense, but until she grows a hide, I'm not listening. She chose to get into the ugly business that is politics; so she may as well learn to shrug off the dung that gets thrown. No matter how she wishes it were, it really is NOT all about her.

There were portions of this piece that I thought Palin had written, then I changed my mind because so many of the words were beyond her limited comprehension. As an aside, I got a big kick out of the final sentence of this article. www.huffingtonpost.com/lorelei-kelly/liz-cheney-wrong-on-natio_b_231325.html

I personally featured the line about how the Cheeney family is missing the irony gene. That about sums it up. What do Liz Cheney, D*ck Cheney and The Pain all have in common? They all think they have something to say..and now write, that the American people want to hear or read. They all need to shut up now.

In fact, what I've learned about both you and Laura is that, when you have something to say, you say it. I really admire that.

Does this mean we won't be entertained by "Todd and Sarah Plus Five" on TLC?
