It was covered on Countdown and other shows. But these scandals are like potato chips-you can never get enough. ;D Anything that can be used to further expose the hypocrisy of the R's is fine by me.

Most criminals get religion after they're caught. The R's get religion in the hope it will prevent them from being caught. I wonder if this wife is going to stand by her man?

This really is a curious phenomenon. The "law and order" republicans more and more are looking like neo-antinomians [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinomianism].

LoL Better and better ... the first thought of the outraged boyfriend who found the computer disk with the "explicit" pictures on it was to extort money from the Senator. A triumph of principle, for sure.

Palin was her usual whiny self. There were the usual attacks on the media who she accused of "making things up" and then there was the caution to Sean Parnell of the need to protect his children from them. This woman is the one who put her children in the spotlight as a means to take advantage of the Republicans' so-called "family values". She, like many of them, needs to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Hopefully, Governor Parnell has learned from her many mistakes and will get on with the job of governing and resist the impulse to make political hay off his children. Her whole speech was like listening to the self-pity of a teenager who didn't make "Most Popular" at school. She gave interviews to magazines and has the temerity to blast them for reporting what she herself had said. Palin needs to take a leaf from Hillary Clinton's book, not only in child raising, but also on how a mature politician portrays herself in public. Her own loose lips sank the ship named "Palin".

Oh, those naughty, naughty facts! www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/20/palin-feuds-with-bank-get_n_263972.html"Sarah Palin has expanded her blogging to include foreign policy, writing a Facebook post on Wednesday criticizing the U.S. Export Import Bank plan to lend $2 billion to the Brazilian oil company Petrobras. Jumping off an editorial in the Wall Street Journal, she wrote, Why is it that during these tough times, when we have great needs at home, the Obama White House is prepared to send more than two billion of your hard-earned tax dollars to Brazil so that the nation's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, can drill off shore and create jobs developing its own resources? Buy American is a wonderful slogan, but you can't say in one breath that you want to strengthen our economy and stimulate it, and then in another ship our much-needed dollars to a nation desperate to drill while depriving us of the same opportunity. While the Journal lamented the fact that we were exploring for oil offshore in Brazil and not in our own country, it did not suggest the deal would take jobs or income away from Americans. That's because it won't. A spokesman for the U.S. Export Import Bank, Phil Cogan, explained to Politico that the bank does not rely on taxpayer money. Moreover, the bank lends money to foreign companies so that they can purchase American goods and services. In this case, Cogan said, the proposed loan would likely finance engineering services, sales of ships to service oil platforms, or drilling equipment. "This is the government doing what it's supposed to do: Create jobs and make sure that Americans get a fair shot at selling goods and services -- not the British or the French or anyone else -- and to help American workers compete on a level playing field," Cogan said, noting that most developed countries have similar credit-export agencies."

Most of us have the ability to censor ourselves before putting pen to paper. When in doubt, we'll consult with friends or read up on our facts before making assertions. Palin has a startling propensity to conjure facts without thought, proof or consensus and is very content to remain blithely ignorant. The problem is that there are many people who swallow everything she says hook, line and sinker.
