As usual, I wasn't listening. Did KO manage to give any credit to Bill Clinton? I don't hear any spluttering or gagging sounds.

Yes, but a third of his constituents are Hispanic. How does that play? Many Hispanics are Roman Catholic who are against abortion, gays and the like and as such have historically voted Republican. Actually, it's the Cuban-Americans who feel this way. They are SO pro-death penalty; however, the majority of hispanics in California are democrats. Even when the Vatican told "us" not to vote for Kerry, we did; however, Kerry did lose the Catholic vote but I think that was more on Kerry. He was a horrible candidate, boring and did nothing to help himself.

He first said this a few days ago. It seems that he's in fear of not being re-elected. We Dems blame him for Palin and the R's blame him for losing the election. Yes, but a third of his constituents are Hispanic. How does that play? The border states have some weird politics. They have high populations of Hispanics, but the illegal alien sentiment is high, based on what I have seen on my trips to AZ. Some of my sister's friends who are Hispanic, talk horribly about other Hispanics that came her illegally. My niece (by marriage) who came here illegally, talks horrible about illegal aliens now that she is becoming a citizen.

Sorry-not even tuned in to KO. I am watching my White Sox playing the Angels. Am I bad? NO!! I unmuted (stupid, I know) and KO is inferring perhaps it could have "hurt us" - the photo op - he really is a jackass!! I don't see how this possibly hurts us. What I heard is that this was a highly controlled and orchestrated situation, with talks going on below the surface while Hillary was fighting with the Koreans above the surface. They were trying to work out the emissary when sometime, late last week, Kim Jong Il (sp?) indicated he wanted Bill Clinton. Everyone wins here, as far as I can see, and it shows that Obama effectively managed a situation that Josh Bolton most certainly would have MISmanaged.

As usual, I wasn't listening. Did KO manage to give any credit to Bill Clinton? I don't hear any spluttering or gagging sounds. I wasn't totally listening, but it seemed to be more about how Bolton and D!ck Morris were wrong. But as I understand it, the groundwork had been laid by others, and Clinton was only the messenger sent at Kim Jong Il's request to put the right face on this ... i.e., he was high enough in stature to suit Il's ego.

Hispanics, in general, are hard-working and support unions, especially in California; they vote democratic nearly all of the time. It's why Bill Clinton worked so hard, and was so successful, at getting the Hispanic vote. In turn, Bill Clinton did a lot for Hispanics once in office. They, in turn, overwhelmingly supported him, and voted for Hillary Clinton.

I have to laugh when idiots like McC speak out of both sides of their mouths - especially him - he was the reTHUG nominee and everything he did, said and suported relating to Bush's Immigration Bill was broadcasted everywhere - heck, his own Party hated him because of it!!

I should add on this Korea situation that it really does increase Bill Clinton's apparent stature, reinforcing that Obama should have been using him from the start as some sort of ambassador without portfolio, going where he was needed as a troubleshooter.
I still wonder, though, how this impacts on Hillary's status, and that's what I wish that Countdown had addressed.

If they won't go after these Blackwater criminals, then I give up. Sometimes, President Obama goes too far in his attempts to bury the past. Closing the eyes does not make the bogeyman go away. The past should be aired and the guilty punished. Does he really believe that the R's would allow him to get away with illegal actions, lying, cheating and stealing?

What a difference between CNN and KO (Tweety was good) - they're discussing Ling and how she felt when she walked into the room and saw Bill Clinton standing there, etc. CNN has gone as far as to say, "It's a perfect Bill Clinton moment" - and "He was greeted with Rock Star status and this will be HARD to top for anyone." Hey KO, you listening? ?

And if there was anything wrong with Countdown's reporting, it was failure to do the deep analysis of what might have been going on behind the scenes. I MUST have heard that on MSNBC ... didn't he get the memo? In essence, he failed to give BOTH Clinton and Obama any credit for this.
I wonder what Obama is working on for the Iran deal.

Obama's inaction on anything BushCo has been both my greatest disappointment since he took office and the source of a lot of resentment towards him!! He needs to remember when Bill Clinton tried to be nice to the GOP in 1992 what they did to him - how they re-paid him!! He needs to wake up!! A San Francisco radio host, Mike Malloy, who is very liberal, is furious, too - he calls the conservative dems in Congress, "pink tutu democrats" - while could be construed as sexist - I agree!!

They're demonstrating right now that they would show him no mercy. He had better hope he does nothing between now and 2016 that they could go after him for. And he'd also better hope the republicans don't get Congress back. Can you say impeachment for not having been born in the USA?

I agree, moon; he failed to give Obama OR Hillary Clinton credit, either!! If he gave Obama credit, that would be giving credit to both Clintons. From what I understand, Hillary Clinton was very involved, as was Al Gore - he didn't mention him, either!! Again, he's really a jerk!! And for Hillary to do a lot of the work, and then let her husband get a lot, or most, of the credit, speaks volumes about her character!! It also speaks to Obama's character!! KO has just lost it!!
