Am I the only one who thinks that, when the President of the United States give a speech, he should wear a suit and tie? Come to think of it, what's Countdown wearing tonight? You're forcing me to look. Heaven forbid. Look at this instead. I think we've got "decadent" covered.

A pin-striped suit (non-spiv type), white shirt and burnt orange tie to match his complexion.

Sorry, ladies, my server is slow tonight. Moon, as promised, Hampson. No singing, just curtain calls, for the Baron Scarpia in TOSCA debut in Zurich, but he has a nice touch with catching roses. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUwxZKTtQCI

We're reaching the approximate mid-point of the show. Time to haul out the really good bubbly. Nothing but the best for my good friends.

Chocolate soup!! Does Campbell's make it? No. Makes me nostalgic for Mom's chocolate gravy and biscuits, back in the day.

A pin-striped suit (non-spiv type), white shirt and burnt orange tie to match his complexion. Somebody really needs to have a talk with his makeup artist. That orange is so unbecoming. (I'm still not watching--but we've seen it all before, have we not? ;D)

Linda, I know we've both heard this thousands of times but it never gets old (and still makes me cry, same as I did the first time I heard it): www.youtube.com/watch?v=VATmgtmR5o4Nobody, before or since, quite like Luciano.

If I were throwing roses at Thomas Hampson, they would look like THIS.

Should have added, that's probably the most ravishingly romantic tenor aria in all of opera. Even in translation (and English, it's not such a good language for arias).

A little break from the bubbly with a champagne rose. I'm guessing that it would tickle the nose just as well as the bubbly.

Hey, Moon, I don't think we've heard this one before. It was sung by Colm Wilkinson (one of the guys who sang at Ted Kennedy's wake) in the original production of LES MISERABLES, but Hampson does it pretty good too. And at Father Bush's request no less. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eKRCN3l7Rk
