Great idea, Laura. Here's my 20-lb baby Luigi ("The Polar Bear in a Cat Suit") interrupting his snack on the houseplants to say "Don't hate me 'cos I beautiful!"

This is not my little Blackadder but close enough to be his twin: He's been a busy kitty today. He sleeps in a dip in the ground under the japonica bush (itself in the shade of a red oak) most of the day except for coming in for meals or snacks--When he's there all you can see of him are two little ears sticking up. He roused up though to help me hang out clothes and towels on the clothesline, complaining rather vociferously that "the birds were saying evil things about me in birdie language." When I asked him how he knew the things they were saying were evil, he gave me this look, like, "Katie, I'm a kitty--I know these things." Yeah, he's my baby.

Katie your Blackadder must be one gorgeous kitty..and smart too. Black cats are my favorite, I have 4. Did you know there is no such thing as a "black cat." Their coat color is actually such a dark, dark brown that it looks black until you see it in the sun, then it looks reddish brown. When they get older their fur gets reddish. Ah pooties..one of the truly beautiful things in life

I've always been amazed at how many colors show up in Blackadder's fur--black, brown, copper, sometimes even blue. And he loves to have it brushed.
Another of his little quirks: he loves mayonnaise. He used to have these scabby places on his skin--then one day he sat down when I was having a sandwich and gave me the evil eye until I shared. He didn't want the chicken or whatever--just the mayo. Needless to say the scabby places have gone away. It's bound to have something to do with the fats in mayo--my dad had the same trouble with his beagles until he read in a magazine that adding a little cooking oil to their dry feed once in awhile would take care of it. It worked, rather to our surprise.

Believe it or not, he will NOT eat canned cat food. Tuna, but not cat food. He obviously thinks he's human. (Or that he's a reincarnated Egyptian god.)

Well all kitties are gods I'm surprised he doesn't like canned food. Most eat half canned, half dry. Be careful with the tuna. Fish is actually not good for cats. Something in the fish. It isn't good for the kitties liver. I used to work for a vet and learned this. Albacore in water is ok, in small portions as it is white meat and better then the commercially processed one. Also, if you cook fish, a little of that is ok too.

One in particular was distinctly siamese out in the bright sun -- with a dark brown body and blue-black points, though he looked all black indoors. Our cats will beg for people food but rarely eat it, or eat just a little bit. They love the jade plant, though. So much fun to eat and throw up those rubbery leaves...

Two pootie pictures to start out our day.. This one is incredible. You've probably seen it before..one brave kitty cat. Thank you, Laura. That first one sure beats the video Countdown showed in the #1 story last night. The second one ... well, that is one kitty in control of her (??) surroundings. If you look at it metaphorically, all women could probably take a lesson from that.
