Very sad news about Mr Carradine. Surprising and shocking. I hope there's a full investigation. Yeah, there seems to be something not quite right there. But either way, the world is short one great actor, now.

The BBC reported that David Carradine had been found hanging in a closet with a noose around his neck and other parts of his body. Sounds like kinky s.ex to me.

It does sound odd, nana; it was reported he was naked, too. Sometimes I wish certain details were left out for the sake of his family. We didn't need to learn this "today" - it could have come out later. I feel so horrible for his family!!

Today is indeed a sad day!! "Jack Henning, a longtime leader in California's labor movement who served in the administrations of Gov. Pat Brown and Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, died today at his San Francisco home, labor officials said." www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/capitolalertlatest/022839.html

Indeed RIP Farrah..and Ed McMahon. Singer Michael Jackson has suffered cardiac arrest. He is also gone as of just now when the news broke. That's 3. Celebrities always go in 3's.

First Farrah, a brave woman who put up one hell of a fight.
And now Michael Jackson.
The first time I ever heard Michael Jackson was back in the old Jackson 5 days, on the schoolbus. I was eight myself.
I remember THRILLER. I remember the first moonwalk.
Good Lord. This is so sad.
RIP Farrah and Michael.

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. Three really diverse personalities and talents, each with a unique impact on the entertainment world and on the lives that they touched. I saw Michael Jackson and his family at Summerfest in Milwaukee. it was the most electric and exciting concert I've ever attended. Whatever happened to him afterwards, I'll always remember that little boy with the light in his eyes and magic in his feet. I wish I could freeze those days in time. The song I'll remember most is "I'll Be There," which was essentially a solo performance. I heard someone describe him as the "King" this afternoon. I don't know if I could ever recognize him as the King, but he was certainly one of the princes of pop music. Farrah Fawcett ... such a beautiful and gentle woman, probably under-appreciated as an actress precisely because she was so beautiful. She and Ryan O'Neal were a lovely and loving couple who remained true to each other. Farrah was graceful and courageous throughout her recent struggles to save her life, selflessly devoting her limited remaining time to telling the story of her own illness and suffering so that others may someday benefit. They will all be missed. Way too much.

I agree that Farrah was under-appreciated. Some of her post-angels dramatic work was very impressive imo, though few could get past the big hair and perfect teeth.
Quite mixed emotions about M Jackson -- an undeniable talent squandered on a decades-long orgy of self-indulgence. The only surprise is that he lasted this long. Time to grit the collective teeth as a shameless burst of merchandizing begins.

I'm sorry that the man has died, but I really couldn't stand listening to him. Thank goodness for the "mute" button. It was only on Friday that I saw one of his ads and was amazed at the weight loss. I think diet pills or the like was at the root of both the weight loss and the rapid-fire speech.

I've obviously been ignoring him way too much because I didn't even notice the weight loss until I saw his picture in the article that G posted. You're probably right about the cause of his problems. Diet pills are NOT good for the heart.

Diet pills are NOT good for the heart. Ouch. Apparently Billy Mays got hit on the head by some flying object during a rough plane landing yesterday before he died. www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-billy-mays29-2009jun29,0,6116879.story Reminds me of Liam Neeson's wife. For the airline's sake, let's hope they offered him medical attention. And now, wherever you go on an airplane, you'll have to worry about ducking flying objects and whether you'll wake up the next day. Sheesh. Yet another entertainment world RIP ~ Gale Storm news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090628/ap_on_re_us/us_obit_storm

DA*MN, another great one lost to us today: the great British comic actress Mollie Sugden, who played the iconic head-of-department Mrs. Slocombe on the 1970s hit Britcom ARE YOU BEING SERVED? She was 86. RIP.

Goodness, our RIP thread is getting full. I'm sorry to say I wasn't familiar with Mollie Sugden, though I have heard of the British series Are You Being Served. Loved Karl Malden in the Streets of San Francisco. He lived a long, long life. One veteran actor I was thinking we will certainly hear about in the near future passing is Harry Morgan..Colonel Potter on the long running M*A*S*H. He must be up in years now. His passing will certainly make me sad.

Mollie Sugden one of the great comediennes who could crack me up with the merest knowing look. May she rest well in p.ussy heaven. ;D Karl Malden-another of the greats. May he R.I.P. also.
