I remember way back when - both during the primaries and the campaign, President Obama specifically addressing major reforms in the Peace Corps!! At the time, I simply thought he wanted to make improvements, etc., and that was great; I admired that about him - NOW I think I have a much better understanding of what he meant!! And to cut him slack, I don't think it would have been appropriate to expose the many, many young people in these countries either wasting their time (or their families), or drinking, partying and WORSE, yes, WORSE!! Actually, that's sort of disappointing, at least to me. He's altogether TOO reluctant to expose the Bushies' dirty laundry. I agree with that and then some, moon!! I meant during the primaries and campaign = anything since January - I agree - he is not only reluctant - he refuses to and that is VERY disappointing!!

LoL Don't miss Moonbeam's painting, Pam. She was admitted to a juried exhibition of Midwestern artists.

I realize what you're saying, moon; I phrased this very wrong!! Not since taking office - no, Obama should have blown this out of the water - Rana probably would not have left the end of February - I meant during the primaries and campaign. I feel for these young people and their families; I know what hopes Rana had, what she went through, and what her sister, Reema, my family and I went through when she left, while she was there and when she broke the horrible news of what is really going on!!

We have REALLY got to get to work on that icon. (And a beefcake one, too. ) What icon? I missed something, which has been fairly easy for me of late - too much on my mind!! But I do need to share something with all of you - RANA IS HOME!! And for good!! She was planning a week trip here this week; she came home last Monday night and it's a long, sad story, really!! But Reema was at camp; she's a YMCA Counselor, and it was hush-hush as Rana wanted to surprise her!! It's bitter-sweet!! I love her being home; however, I know what a big disappointment the Peace Corps was for her - and MANY, MANY others around the world!! It's my next letter to whoever will listen in government!! I'm glad for you friend your Rana is home, but not happy to hear there were disappointing circumstances. Whatever they were, I'm sure your letter will get to the right person. They need to hear all complaints since this organization affects so many people. Now you can at least rest easy that she is home safe with you. Hugs to you and the girls.

I have a confession to make - ever since I saw the title of this thread I have NOT been able to get this song out of my mind and it's driving me NUTS!! On top of spaghetti, All covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball, When somebody sneezed. It rolled off the table, And on to the floor, And then my poor meatball, Rolled out of the door. It rolled in the garden, And under a bush, And then my poor meatball, Was nothing but mush. The mush was as tasty As tasty could be, And then the next summer, It grew into a tree. The tree was all covered, All covered with moss, And on it grew meatballs, And tomato sauce. So if you eat spaghetti, All covered with cheese, Hold on to your meatball, Whenever you sneeze. Pam, my dear, you missed your calling Commercial jingles is where you should be
